Learning a foreign language is a difficult, complex and time consuming task and to pave the way of learning a foreign language, being familiar and having general knowledge about that language is out of question. There are numerous variables in learning a language. One of the most important factors is the efforts of the learner, without trying hard and continuous learning and expansion of the fields of study, success in learning a language seems impossible. Therefor in this book it has been tried to make the students of Farsi Literature familiar with the different aspects of English language, written by many writers from the original sources.

This book is designed for the MA students of Farsi Literature according to the established criteria. In selection of the texts the easiness of the text has been considered to make the contents understandable. Omission is an inseparable part of the selection; hence there will be different tastes and questions about it. The level and the needs of the students were the major goals of the selection of the texts in this book. To make the learning process easier the contents were compiled in four chapters.

This book contains literary terms, biographies of Iranian and foreign writers and anthology of the writers’ works.

First the important and key points are given for the information of the readers. Then vocabulary and the terms of each lesson are given alphabetically and divided in two groups of literary and ordinary terms. For each vocabulary an easy and understandable definition has been provided. Then the text and the questions are presented about that lesson.

یادگیری یک زبان خارجی کاری دشوار، پیچیده و زمان بر است و برای هموار کردن راه برای یادگیری یک زبان خارجی، آشنایی و داشتن دانش عمومی در مورد آن زبان جای سوال ندارد. متغیرهای زیادی در یادگیری زبان وجود دارد. یکی از مهمترین عوامل تلاش زبان آموز است که بدون تلاش زیاد و مستمر یادگیری و گسترش رشته های تحصیلی، موفقیت در یادگیری زبان غیر ممکن به نظر می رسد. از این رو در این کتاب سعی شده است تا دانشجویان رشته ادبیات فارسی با جنبه های مختلف زبان انگلیسی که توسط بسیاری از نویسندگان از منابع اصلی نوشته شده است آشنا شوند.

این کتاب برای دانشجویان کارشناسی ارشد ادبیات فارسی بر اساس معیارهای تعیین شده طراحی شده است. در انتخاب متون سهولت متن برای قابل فهم شدن مطالب در نظر گرفته شده است. حذف بخشی جدایی ناپذیر از انتخاب است. از این رو سلایق و سوالات مختلفی در مورد آن وجود خواهد داشت. سطح و نیاز دانش آموزان از اهداف اصلی انتخاب متون این کتاب بود. برای سهولت فرآیند یادگیری مطالب در چهار فصل گردآوری شد.

این کتاب شامل اصطلاحات ادبی، زندگینامه نویسندگان ایرانی و خارجی و گلچین آثار نویسندگان است.

ابتدا نکات مهم و کلیدی جهت اطلاع خوانندگان آورده شده است. سپس واژگان و اصطلاحات هر درس به ترتیب حروف الفبا آورده شده و به دو گروه اصطلاحات ادبی و عادی تقسیم می شود. برای هر واژگان یک تعریف آسان و قابل فهم ارائه شده است. سپس متن و سوالات مربوط به آن درس ارائه می شود.
