the book id divided into eight units. each has a theme، such as hard news، and there are some examples and activities designed around the theme. the texts in the body of the units as well as the activities are original and authentic in nature and have been chosen from famous daily newspapers to illustrate some specitic features of journalistic discourse.

each unit corresponds to a section or page in a newspaper  and the order of the units roughly follows that of most daily newspapers.emphasis has been placed on the skills which are useful for newspaper reading skimming،scanning،finding the central ideas of artical،guessing the meaning of works and understanding newspaper headlines and articles. all unit also contain follow-up activities which are aimed at providing further examples for the theme of a unit.
